ATC is expanding its portfolio of surround studio monitors with the introduction of the SSM Series, a new generation of shallow, passive wall- and ceiling-mount studio monitors designed for modern directors, surround systems and immersive audio environments. The series debuts with two models - the SSM12i Pro and SSM25i Pro. Designed for installations with limited space. Both SSM models have very shallow enclosures - 147 mm / 5 13/16” for the two-way SSM12i Pro and 198 mm / 7 13/16” for the three-way SSM25i Pro - including mounting components. This allows integration into control rooms where width, depth and ceiling height are significant constraints.

The enclosures can be mounted in portrait or landscape orientation using a robust mounting system that attaches flat to the wall or ceiling. A swivel mechanism allows precise alignment toward the mixing position for better image and response in the room. Both enclosures include internal steel reinforcement and a security mounting point to meet the practical requirements for safe professional installation, especially for overhead mounting.

The SSM12i Pro is a passive two-way loudspeaker designed with ATC's patented driver technology and housed in a sealed enclosure optimized for wall or ceiling mounting. The lows and mids are handled by the SB45-150CLD 150mm driver, whose diaphragm with Constrained Layer Damping (CLD) technology minimizes decay while maintaining linearity throughout the operating band. Above the 2.2 kHz crossover point, ATC's SH25-76 25-millimeter dual-suspension soft-dome tweeter provides low distortion and excellent high-frequency resolution. Combined with a newly developed crossover - designed and tuned specifically for wall-mounted operation - the SSM12i Pro provides high resolution, controlled dispersion and accurate sound reproduction in compact control and mixing rooms.

The SSM25i Pro is a 3-way model for medium to large directors, including those used for mixing Dolby Atmos and other immersive sound formats, the SSM25i Pro offers improved bandwidth and output thanks to its three-way closed-circuit design and three proprietary ATC drivers.

Low frequencies are handled by the SB50-164SC 164 mm/6.5” driver with a short coil/long gap motor and paper-carbon composite diaphragm. Mid frequencies are handled by ATC's renowned SM75-150 75 mm/3” soft dome driver, known for its exceptional clarity and minimal coloration, while high frequencies are handled by the SH25-76S tweeter, equipped with a high magnetic flux motor for extended high frequency response and very low distortion. The crossover system has been redesigned specifically for in-wall mounting, providing the speaker with ATC's trademark neutrality and transition accuracy, even when installed close to the surface, and excellent integration with ATC's range of active speakers and subwoofers.
