The FreeSpeak Edge base station is a standalone device enclosed in a 1RU chassis. It provides integration between the FreeSpeak wireless intercom system and a wide range of Clear-Com endpoints and devices in the Dante network. The main purpose of the base station is to support wireless beltpacks and 5Ghz antennas and to work with FreeSpeak II antenna splitters, antennas and beltpacks operating in both E1 1.9 GHz, E1 2.4 GHz and IP standards. The station supports up to 6 IP or FreeSpeak Edge antennas, up to 10 E1 antennas (1.9 or 2.4 GHz) and 100 channels. The base station also provides multiple software-defined interoperable IP ports that can be used to communicate with devices on the Dante network. Integration with multiple external devices gives the FreeSpeak Edge base station powerful functionality for professional applications.

Support

The FreeSpeak Edge base station is managed via four rotary encoders that allow quick movement through menus and tabs. Beltpacks are added to the system via a USB port and antennas are added from the front panel. With two high-resolution color touchscreen TFT displays, setup is quick and easy. The front panel has a slot for plugging in a headset, so the base station can serve as an intercom panel.

Management

Configuration of the entire system is done through Core Configuration Manager (CCM™) software. It is an integrated, browser-based software tool that is compatible with the latest versions of all popular browsers. It allows immediate access to the system its configuration, management and monitoring. The intuitive user interface through a consistent design speeds up and simplifies the operation of the base station, antennas, beltpacks, providing instant access to key features such as save, restore, text message, individual or group calls to beltpacks or remote microphone muting.
