The „242” E-Series equalizer was probably the most popular equalizer in the SL 4000 series of consoles, and it's back in a big way in the SSL ORIGIN console. The E-Series four-band parametric equalizer is on each of the 32 channels. Variable Cut/Boost per band, HF and LF Bell/Shelf switches, independent replaceable HPF on each channel and the distinctive „242” style.

The SSL ORIGIN analog console has an all-new microphone preamp design that inherits the „purity” of previous SSL microphone preamps. What's more, it inherits it with the added flexibility of switching character for a warmed, harmonically rich and driven sound that changes with gain. PureDrive ™ is a new discrete transistor preamp based on modern FET components. The result is both an ultra-clean and ultra-quiet preamp that delivers stunning clarity in „Pure” mode. In addition, pressing the switch that activates the „Drive” circuit adds gain-dependent nonlinear harmonic saturation.
