SSL TEMPEST CONTROL APP
Solid State Logic Tempest App Control
Full-featured production software for broadcast

The Tempest Control App (TCA) is an ideal solution for broadcast, and wherever a powerful audio mixer is required but without the need for a control surface.
The application provides access to the full set of T-System features with direct control of the Tempest Engines. Through a PC, TCA provides the user with the necessary tools for applications including remote production, news-room, audio production backup, or anywhere where a physical control surface is not required.

Combined with the Tempest Engine, the Tempest Control App works as an independent T-System mixer in a small format. The size of the entire system can be limited to a TE1 1U engine and a Mini PC. The TCA can also be run on a virtual machine on a shared server. The kit can be extended with physical faders or touchscreens, housed in studio or flaypack kits.
TCA for Automated Audio Production
The combination of the TCA application , Tempest engine and SSL's networked I/O devices is an ideal solution for automated production. TCA can run on a dedicated PC or virtual server, saving space and significantly reducing budget.
The T System is compatible with EVS Cerebrum, Grass Valley Ignite, Kahuna, Ross Overdrive, Sony ELC and Viz Mosart production automation systems. The example below illustrates the main System T Engine located in the Machine Room along with a network I/O unit allowing signals to be commutated as needed. In the production room, control of the console software is via a touch screen and fader section. At any time, the system can be expanded with any I/O running on SSL's IP network.
TCA for Flypack Remote Production
The T system is designed with remote production in mind. This is made possible by IP-connected, distributed control surfaces, motors and I/O devices.
For events requiring an on-site audio console (where low audio latency is essential), the system can consist of a TE1 engine, local I/O units, switches, and a laptop or mini-PC running the TCA application. Optionally, such a system, can be expanded with a physical set of faders.
The T System's advanced surface connectivity options mean that another control surface - of any size - can remotely connect as needed to the TCA operating at the event site, providing a large control surface in an ideal studio environment for remote control of audio processing.
TCA as Backup
The TCA can be used as a backup control surface for broadcast-critical applications without the use of a traditional physical console. Using the T System's Dormant Backup feature, the TCA (or any T System control surface) can take control of active audio processing in an instant, with the push of a single button.
TCA as Additional Implementer
With TCA, it is possible to expand the T System with additional performer stations. These can be configured as permanent or temporary connections, easily managed through the advanced remote capabilities of the T System. Each such station can be expanded with physical fader or touchscreen areas.
TCA as Offline Editor
TCA can be used as a standalone offline application for advance preparation of show files or training purposes. TCA replaces the earlier T-SOLSA software package and is still available free of charge for remote and offline work.
Peripherals
The Tempest Control app can be expanded to include fader and master sections and a touchscreen to provide physical control.
