2 X SSL MIC PRE / LINE INPUTS
The SSL 2+ MKII is equipped with two high-performance microphone preamplifiers designed by SSL. Providing a massive 64 dB gain range and an exceptional 116.5 dB dynamic range, they sound amazing, as befits a device from the world's leading mixing console manufacturer. The design uses specially selected low-noise discrete transistors and integrated circuits to deliver performance far beyond what is usually associated with a USB-powered portable interface.
The XLR combo inputs found on the SSL 2+ MKII also function as line inputs, dedicated to keyboard instruments, synthesizers, samplers, drum machines or external audio processors such as equalizers and compressors. With a huge dynamic range of 117 dB and a maximum input level of +24 dBu, the SSL 2+ MKII's line inputs are compatible with all professional line equipment.
4 X SYMMETRICAL OUTPUTS
On the rear of the SSL 2+ MKII are four symmetrical outputs for connecting studio monitors, outboard or effects. With professional outputs, the SSL 2+ MKII provides a dynamic range of 120 dB, allowing you to hear every detail in your productions - from the most subtle riff to the deepest bass line.
2 HI-Z / INSTRUMENTAL INPUTS
In addition to microphone/line inputs, the SSL 2+ MKII has two dedicated instrument inputs (DI) with auto-detection, located on the front. As with a guitar amplifier, the Hi-Z inputs allow recording guitar, bass or anything with high output impedance. The SSL-designed DI inputs - like those on larger desktop mixers - provide the best possible sound quality when recording.
2 HEADPHONE OUTPUTS
The SSL 2+ MKII features dual headphone outputs conveniently located on the front panel. These redesigned outputs (equipped with NJM high-current headphone amplifiers) are capable of handling any type of headphone, from small in-ear monitors to large-diaphragm models. Now offering a staggering 119.5 dB dynamic range (MK I version - 111 dB), you have everything you need to monitor your productions accurately. The SSL 2+ MKII's front-panel „Mix” control allows you to combine the USB (DAW) outputs with the physical inputs for lag-free listening. The „A” and „B” headphone outputs have independent volume control and can also be fed from different DAW outputs; ideal for creating independent „artist” and „engineer” monitor mixes.
Legacy 4K Analogue Enhancement Circuit
SSL's 4000 Series consoles (often referred to as „4K”) are known for their unique character, which comes from multiple stages of harmonic distortion from VCA compressors, VCA attenuators and other key components such as transistorized mixer amplifiers. Using state-of-the-art components, SSL has developed a circuit that combines two key features of 4K sound. Legacy 4K Analogue Enhancement adds just the right amount of precise, sweet-sounding harmonic distortion and extremely musical high-frequency boost to the signal, giving 4K sound what artists and engineers have loved for decades. Now you too can have it in your home studio.
Next-generation 192 kHz 32-bit frequency
