SSL 360° V1.8 software update

The Link Bus Compressor plug-in, Link V1.1 and new UC1 controller features are just some of the benefits of the SSL360° software update.

Following the successful launch of 360° Link V1 earlier this year, Solid State Logic continues to update the SSL 360° platform. The latest version of SSL 360° V1.8, which is available for free via the SSL website, includes the new SSL 360° Link Bus Compressor Plug-in and Link V1.1 update.

With the introduction of the new SSL 360° Link Bus Compressor plug-in, users can now map and control any third-party plug-in directly from the Bus Compressor section of the UC1. In addition, gain reduction measurements from compatible third-party plug-ins can also be assigned to display on the UC1 Bus Compressor meter and Channel Strip gate/comp gain reduction meter (360° Link v1.1), for better visualization and seamless control.

SSL includes factory maps for popular third-party Bus Compressor plug-ins such as Slate Digital®, Brainworx®, Waves® and Universal Audio®.

In addition to the advanced mapping and measurement features mentioned above, the new v1.8 software also removes restrictions on the number of Bus Compressor instances that can be used with UC1. Now users can access and control up to 192 Bus Compressor 2 instances or third-party plug-ins via 360° Link Bus Compressor, greatly expanding the capabilities of UC1 and 360° Plug-in Mixer. The v1.8 update also improves UC1„s overall visibility, as it now displays the name of the hosted third-party plug-in in the top area of the screen when scrolling through the ”Channel„ encoder, helping to identify different plug-ins on the same path. The parameter labels of third-party plug-ins are also visible in the ”Extended" function menu.

SSL 12 USB audio interface enhancements
At the same time, SSL is also announcing two significant improvements SSL 12 via this software update. Users can now access the „polarity inversion” feature, which is now present on analog and ADAT input channels, and mono sum compensation can be adjusted to any value from -3.0 to -6.0 dB. Finally, on the SSL 12, monitoring is now automatically muted when the TALK button is on.

A seamless combination of control and plug-in visibility
„Hybrid” hardware/software combination of the UC1 plug-in controller and SSL 360° software is the result of decades of experience in console design, providing „knob per function” control of SSL's prized 4K E, 4K B, Channel Strip 2 and Bus Compressor 2 plug-ins. With the SSL 360° Link Plug-in and the latest v1.8 update, UC1 users have even more control by gaining access to a much broader palette of plug-ins, providing an almost infinite range of creative options when producing and mixing music.

Using 360° Link, available free of charge in AAX Native/AU/VST3/VST formats via Solid State Logic's website, music producers and engineers can access any plug-in in SSL's 360° environment and its hybrid „virtual console” workflow. The software is available free of charge through SSL Downloads Manager: https://solidstatelogic.com/ssl-download-manager. Note that „hosted” third-party plug-ins must be in VST3 format.
