SSL PURE DRIVE QUAD and OCTO<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Solid State Logic<\/a> unveiled two new studio devices. Pure Drive Quad<\/a> is a 4-channel, a Pure Drive Octo<\/a> An 8-channel microphone preamplifier. Each acts as both a preamp, AD\/DA converter and audio interface. Such powerful functionality is enclosed in a rackmount enclosure only 2U high. What is most unique about the Pure Drive devices is the design of the preamps based on the iconic SSL ORIGIN console preamps. This gives the user three preamp modes, Clean and Classic Drive known from ORIGIN, and the brand new Asymmetric Drive available only on the SSL Pure Drive Quad and Octo!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meet Pure Drive Quad<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

All PURE DRIVE microphone preamps can be independently switched between three different DRIVE modes: Clean, Classic Drive and Asymmetric Drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clean mode<\/strong> is a highly regarded SSL linear preamplifier with a very low noise floor. It is known for its ability to faithfully capture the sound of the source with exceptional clarity and detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classic Drive<\/strong> is a symmetrical mode that generates mostly odd harmonics; the same sound that characterizes the ORIGIN console.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asymmetric Drive<\/strong> offers a new sound coloring option designed specifically for the PURE DRIVE series, making even harmonics dominant and providing a distinct rounding of sound, characteristic coloring and softening of transients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PURE DRIVE microphone preamps feature rear-mounted XLR combo inputs, front-panel HI-Z\/DI instrument inputs with automatic input detection, and three sets of D-sub connectors for line inputs, as well as insert send and insert return. The PURE DRIVE QUAD insert return\/ADC inputs operate up to a full +24 dBu line level, allowing interfacing with other professional equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
