MOZARTPLATZ FORUM: AN IMMERSIVE ACOUSTIC SPACE FOR CUTTING-EDGE EVENTS AND WORKSHOPS

Amadeus Acoustics, in partnership with Rohde Acoustics, contributed to the design and installation of the system as part of a major redevelopment project at the Forum Mozartplatz in central Vienna.

Working with Unverblümt Architekt Di Erich Strolz, Amadeus Acoustics' role in the larger project to transform the pre-existing space into a modern venue for business and culture centered around a multi-purpose forum room.

THÉÂTRE DE BEAULIEU, LOZANNE

Nearly 1,600 attendees gave Renaud Capuçon and the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra (OCL) a standing ovation at the inauguration of the Théâtre de Beaulieu on 03/09/2022.

Amadeus Active Acoustics worked on the acoustic renovation of the theater, optimizing the acoustics for symphonic music. The theater's acoustics were highly praised by the press.

The Théâtre de Beaulieu is the largest theater in Switzerland and home to OCL.

CONCERT HALL IN ANDERMATT

The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra inaugurated the new Andermatt Concert Hall, designed by Studio Seilern Architects, with a magnificent concert. AMADEUS Active Acoustics was selected by Kahle Acoustics to complement the architectural acoustics and add additional volume to this exclusive venue and make it truly multifunctional. From symphonic concerts to conferences, from events to chamber music performances, everything is possible with the optimized settings of the AMADEUS Active Acoustics system.

It's fascinating how much dynamic range the Andermatt concert hall provides. It offers a high degree of intimacy while sounding like a larger hall.

MOZART REQUIEM

When theater director Romeo Castellucci and Ensemble Pygmalion music director Raphaël Pichon presented their interpretation of Mozart's requiem at the 2019 Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, the work was immediately praised as a modern masterpiece.

However, when Wiener Festwochen commissioned Amadeus Active Acoustics to reconfigure Hall E of Museumsquartier for the festival's prologue in the spring of 2022, it was unclear how the Requiem, which has won over outdoor audiences, would be successfully adapted to the festival's chosen venue.

KING ALBERT THEATER, BAD ELSTER

With its supra-regional charisma, the König Albert Theater Bad Elster is a cultural and social meeting place in the heart of Europe; it is one of the most important and magnificent court theaters. The program, which changes almost daily, ranges from cabaret to theater and concerts. During the renovation of the hall, the existing outdated VRAS system was replaced by AMADEUS Active Acoustics, retaining the existing speakers and microphones, making it a safe and sustainable investment for long-term management.

Anyone can change the acoustics of a hall in a matter of milliseconds; AMADEUS does not require specially trained personnel.

CCS SUHL CONVENTION CENTER

The largest conference and concert venue in Thuringia offers publicized concerts, conferences and events. Therefore, the natural acoustics are very dry to meet these multifunctional needs. For the performance of symphonic concerts without a sound system, AMADEUS was chosen to add the missing envelope and volume so important for authentic interpretation of classical music.

AMADEUS Active Acoustics scans the sound field using nearly invisible microphones. Sound events are then analyzed for their intensity and point of origin. Millions of reflections are calculated as if the walls were much more reflective and diffuse. These reflections are then reproduced by more than 100 speakers in the ceiling and side walls of the concert hall. Intensity, density, composition and tonal balance can be shaped by AMADEUS ad libitum.

HCC HANNOVER - KUPPELSAAL

The Kuppelsaal is Germany's largest concert hall with a capacity of 3,500. AMADEUS was used to increase the clarity, closeness and loudness of this huge and reverberant space. Sir John Eliot Gardiner conducted the London Symphony Orchestra at the opening and was intrigued by the result. He knew the hall from the past and was impressed by how well every nuance was conveyed to the audience and other musicians.

ALPBACH CONGRESS CENTER

The Alpbach Congress Center hosts the European Alpbach Forum, which is an interdisciplinary platform for science, politics, business and culture. It connects international decision-makers from all sectors of society with interested audiences and engaged young people. AMADEUS was chosen to build the new multi-purpose hall to be at the forefront of technology. It is being used for concerts, theatrical performances, elevating speech in conference applications, 3D sound reproduction and cinema projections with surround sound.

BEYERLER MUSEUM IN BASEL, SWITZERLAND

For the opening of the Goya exhibition at the famous Beyerler Museum in Basel, artist Philippe Parreno turned to AMADEUS for a new multimedia installation using advanced sound and film design concepts. His work, based on Goya's painting Pinturas Negras, was presented in one exhibition room.

The multimedia installation is an art object, and as such, the specific requirements and effects desired by the artist had to be translated into the use of 3D surround sound techniques and acoustic settings. The short time frame for the project was also a significant pressure, as the museum was being prepared for opening night.

DIGITIZATION HOUSE

The House of Digitization (Haus der Digitalisierung) in Tulln, which opened its doors in December 2022, offers a wide range of digitization services for small and medium-sized businesses in Lower Austria.

Amadeus Acoustics played a key role in transforming the 4,200-square-meter exhibition space into a multifunctional, immersive venue.

Amadeus Core provides multifunctional, immersive audio in a center that often requires audiovisual interaction with a 360-degree LED wall that spans the showroom and event area.

MYTHOS MOZART

Mythos Mozart begins in „Requiem - The Death of Mozart,” a mysterious room with 1,500 candles. In this initial room, Amadeus Active Acoustics creates a huge cathedral-like acoustics, allowing the audience to interact with the stirring sounds of Mozart's last work.

From there, visitors enter an immersive experience beginning in 1791 Vienna, passing through Mozart's mind. All immersive audio content, which is played through more than 300 speakers, was created with the Amadeus Immersive Audio System.

The museum installation uses 3 Amadeus cores to immerse the audience in newly composed works by Walter Wezow (based on Mozart's themes). The premiere was held in Vienna on 20.09.2022.

OPERA IN THE QUARRY

Next to Lake Neusiedl, the St. Margarethen quarry is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the same time, it is the largest natural stage in Europe. It covers an area of 7,000 square meters and hosts nearly 5,000 opera lovers. This year's production - Mozart's Magic Flute - was a huge success, attracting more than 91,000 spectators with an occupancy rate of 93%.

AMADEUS created the ideal acoustic conditions for this Open Air production. More than 100 speakers were installed to provide an immersive journey through the entire opera. The actors' positions were tracked in real time, and a virtual opera house was created around the audience. Soundscapes and various special effects enhanced the dialogue sections. Virtual birds buzzed acoustically around Papageno, cave effects, thunder and fire effects were created.

MARIA DE BUENOS AIRES - GRAZ OPERA

For this complex opera production with a stage more than 30 meters wide, AMADEUS created an immersive experience for the audience. The actors' positions were tracked in real time, and AMADEUS created a dense reflection pattern with more than 60 speakers surrounding the audience. The orchestra was also projected across the width of the stage, keeping the soloists close to the orchestra, which was essential for the sensitive timing of the tango music to work, while providing a spectacular wide view of the orchestra.

OPENING OF WIENER FESTWOCHEN 2017

Every year, the Wiener Festwochen celebrates its opening at Rathausplatz in Vienna. The master of ceremonies and hostess of this musical show in 2017 was Conchita Wurst.
Her symphonic concerts, whether at the Linz Brucknerhaus or the Sydney Opera House, were joyous festivals. With the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Conchita encountered the incomparable diversity that has made Vienna unique for many centuries.

Together with d&b audiotechnik speakers, AMADEUS created a virtual concert hall around the audience. This helped create space for the orchestra's mix and made room for the band's mix in the front speaker system.
