Pure Drive™ Mic Pre
The PureDrive™ Mic Pre in ORIGIN EVO offers a full palette of tones, from superior transparency to exceptional saturation. Its discrete transistor design provides pristine, distortion-free transparency and when you turn on DRIVE - an evolution of SSL's VHD technology - you get a warm, rich, characterful sound. Whether you're recording, ripping stems or shaping the sound of individual channels, PureDrive™ gives you the flexibility to choose between pure transparency and distinctive saturation - one preamp, two distinct facets, unmistakable SSL character.

E Series EQ
Every channel on the ORIGIN EVO features the most sought-after equalizer model from the 4000 Series consoles: the iconic E Series 242 „Black Knob.” Originally developed in collaboration with Sir George Martin for the SL 4000 E, this equalizer has been the professional's choice for over four decades for creating exceptional mixes.

E-series dynamics
ORIGIN EVO brings the dynamics of SSL's E-Series into every channel - one of the defining elements of SSL's classic 1980s sound. You can expect powerful, aggressive compression and ultra-fast gating, faithfully reproduced thanks to the original circuitry and components that provide the authentic character of the 4000 E.
Each compressor has a LINK function that passes the sidechain signal to adjacent channels, allowing them to be combined. The ORIGIN EVO's dynamics section features a true RMS sidechain detector and a completely discrete gain reduction stage, identical to the Class A VCA circuit used in the original console. Flexible controls allow you to bypass the soft-knee curve, enable fast attack, and select logarithmic or linear release - providing three distinctive compression characteristics that have shaped countless iconic recordings.

Upgrade to EVO
Current ORIGIN owners are supported with an upgrade kit. ORIGIN EVO's innovative channel strip design allows existing consoles to be upgraded. These upgrades are available as 8-channel kits, making the process manageable and cost-effective on a step-by-step basis.

High-pass and low-pass filters
High-pass and low-pass filters are an integral part of the ORIGIN EVO channel strips, providing the typical routing flexibility expected from an analog SSL console. ORIGIN EVO adds a 12 dB/octave low-pass filter to ORIGIN's existing 18 dB/octave high-pass filter, offering greater sound shaping capabilities. Both filters can be switched to dynamic sidechain for precise band control - ideal for gating drums or triggering the compressor with greater precision in tasks such as de-essing.

Hybrid manufacturing processes
One of ORIGIN EVO's key design principles is the authentic E-series sound, delivered through hybrid workflow and ergonomics. At its core is a 19-inch modular rack-based center section that adapts to different control priorities and provides additional space for custom external processing, so the engineer has all workstation controls and processing at hand.
Seamlessly integrate the UF8 DAW controller, and the Stereo Group fader section can be moved up the center section to place the UF8 in the lower section, directly in front of the engineer. The 3U center meter panel can be repositioned to bring the workstation monitor closer without obscuring the main meters.
In addition to its flexible layout, each chennel strip is optimized for hybrid operation with 0 dB fader bypass to rip stems and insert points on large and small faders, making it easy to integrate additional processing.

Improved The Bus Compressor
Few studio devices have achieved such legendary status as the SSL Bus Compressor. It has been the secret weapon behind countless hits for decades - producers and sound engineers trust it for its ability to create the „glue” that holds all elements of a mix together. In ORIGIN EVO, this legacy continues with an authentic circuit and design, built to original specifications. The distinctive consistency of the mix bus adds power, dynamics and clarity, creating the refined sound that professionals demand.
The Bus Compressor in ORIGIN EVO offers new compression ratios, insertion return for external processing, and a built-in sidechain filter - providing classic SSL power with modern flexibility.

The SSL Mix Bus
A hallmark element of SSL consoles is the mixing bus, and the ORIGIN EVO is no exception. ORIGIN and ORIGIN EVO take a new approach compared to other large-format SSL consoles, providing excellent noise characteristics and very low distortion thanks to their new all-analog design. Part of the magic of SSL consoles is their ability to easily sum sounds with detail and separation, while creating an extremely wide stereo image that the engineer can use in creative ways.
Many engineers say that the mixing bus in SSL consoles is „bent” in terms of sound, allowing them to add more sound, dynamics and energy to mixes without the risk of them „falling apart.”.

Advanced bus routing
ORIGIN EVO's electronic routing solves several ergonomic and reliability issues that occur with traditional routing switches located at the top of the channel strip. The new routing approach eliminates the need for the user to repeatedly reach up to the top of the channel strip and improves console reliability because electronic switching removes components that are often located in the hottest part of the channel strip and therefore require cleaning or replacement.
A single ROUTE selector switch allows each channel to address centrally located bus assignments, and with intelligent multiple button pressing, session setup is much simpler and less prone to problems than traditional switch-based routing.

Mission Control
The central tile's are the heart of the ORIGIN EVO system. They are designed to provide the easily accessible functions and tools needed to work quickly and creatively during sessions. Taking into account the requirements for sustainability, ergonomics, modern signal amplification and communication, ORIGIN EVO offers the familiar and proven feature set of the central tile's, plus a few innovations:
Bus Trim Masters and Routing - A central bus trim routing matrix with sixteen ±10dB adjustments for trim rails, with routing assignment switches for each bus.

Auto Sleep - The unique Auto Sleep mode automatically detects prolonged inactivity and puts the console into standby mode, reducing power consumption and making ORIGIN EVO much more efficient than older SSL consoles.

Solo Master section - Comprehensive solo control, including Solo-In-Front with mix balance, Solo-In-Place for Large, Small and Group faders, and PFL options. Solo Level, Solo Clear and Red Light switches round out the available options.

Mix Bus - Featuring a high-quality 100mm slider with a fully symmetrical, switchable insert for external bus processing.

Monitoring - independent adjustments for alternate monitors 1 and 2, variable DIM level, MONO and left and right channel muting, and ØL polarity switch. Monitoring sources can be selected from the main mixer, three external stereo sources or the front panel 3.5mm stereo input, and a Sum switch allows simultaneous monitoring of selected sources.

Returns - Four stereo return inputs allow ORIGIN EVO to route signals to mix and monitor buses with adjustable signal levels to stereo return outputs A and B.
Mains power requirements - Voltage: 100 V to 240 V AC, current: 12.0 A to 6.0 A
