Clear-Com Encore KB-701 Remote Speaker Station

Clear-Com Encore® is an analog 2-wire partyline system with intuitive plug-and-play design and superior "Clear-Com Sound" sound quality.

The KB-701 remote speaker station connects to a single intercom line channel and operates in half-duplex mode, just like a walkie-talkie. The station has a built-in speaker and a permanently mounted electret microphone with limiter and a push-to-talk button. The station can be programmed, via two internal dip switches, to operate in four different modes activated by other stations within the intercom system. The different modes are activated by another station's call function, allowing individual control of the speaker and microphone.

Microprocessor control of logic and switching makes the KB-701 an extremely functional intercom station in a compact package. An electronic Talk button operating only in momentary mode activates the talk function. Activation of the microphone is done with the Talk button or remotely from another station. A blue LED indicates that the microphone is on, while an amber LED indicates that the microphone is off. The sensitivity of the microphone can be adjusted according to the user's distance.

The KB-701 offers both visual and audible call signaling to get the user's attention when he or she is not at the station. A red LED lights up when a call is activated on a particular intercom channel. The audible call signaling has a level control. The intercom channel and symmetrical program input also have separate volume controls. A local program source can be fed into the station, allowing the user to monitor that source while remaining in intercom mode. The program input can also be used in conjunction with the Stage Announce output of the main station. This allows the station to be paged even when the intercom volume control is turned down. In addition, it can be internally set so that an incoming announcement can be heard even when the control is completely muted.
