DirectOut EXBOX.MD

EXBOX.MD is a Dante / MADI converter combining Dante and MADI (AES10) audio network technology from Audinate. Equipped with three MADI ports and four network ports, it offers simple conversion of 64 audio channels between MADI and Dante.

The compact size of the popular EXBOX series (1/3 of 19''), combined with a rugged chassis and redundant power supplies, makes the EXBOX.MD ideal for concert tours, broadcast trucks, and studio applications.

MONITORING
LEDs on the front panel indicate timing, sample rate, device status and power supply.

AUDIO STREAMING
Up to 32 streams with a total of 64 audio channels are supported. The device also features the latest Dante firmware with AES67 enabled support.

COMPREHENSIVE FUNCTIONALITY
EXBOX.MD offers the ultimate in flexibility, as it provides three MADI ports of different interface types:

• SC optical (single-mode or multimode)
• coaxial (BNC)
• SFP

The Small Form Factor Pluggable cage can be equipped with any SFP module suitable for a specific application.

FastSRC
FastSRC™ is a low-latency, switchable sample rate converter for Dante I/O and provides seamless exchange between MADI and Dante I/O when the two sources are out of sync.

EARS™
Enhanced Automatic Redundancy Switching™ is a system that prevents output signal interruption. It uses proven technology BLDS™ or triggering with a reference signal. The logic monitors the status of the trigger signal on the audio network or MADI inputs. In the event of a failure, it automatically switches to a defined backup input (audio network or MADI).

BUILT-IN SWITCH
The four network ports are connected to an internal switch and provide the ability to use Dante redundancy mode (Primary Secondary), while more EXBOX.MD or other Dante devices can be connected directly in switching mode to increase the number of channels.

REMOTE CONTROL
EXBOX.MD can be controlled by Audinate's remote „Dante Controller” software and is ready to operate in „Dante Domain Manager” mode. Features of the device, such as channel-based routing matrix, FastSRC™ or EARS™ are accessible via globcon and the browser user interface.

SAFE OPERATION
The device can be powered by up to two external power supplies, as well as PoE (Power over Ethernet).

READY FOR RACK MOUNTING
Each EXBOX unit can be mounted in a standard 19” RACK cabinet using the optional BOXMOUNT.XL kit. Up to three devices can fit side-by-side in 1 RU.
