DirectOut EXBOX.SG

EXBOX.SG is a SoundGrid / MADI converter that combines SoundGrid and MADI (AES10) audio networking technology from Waves.

Equipped with three MADI ports and four network ports, it offers low latency conversion of 128 audio channels between SoundGrid and MADI.

The handy size of the popular EXBOX series (1/3 of 19''), combined with a rugged chassis and redundant power supplies, makes EXBOX.SG an ideal tool for broadcast or rental companies, recording sessions, and studio applications integrating numerous Waves plug-ins and more.

Monitoring
LEDs on the front panel indicate timing, sample rate, device status and power supply.

Audio streaming
Supports up to 128 audio channels at 48 kHz or 64 audio channels at 96 kHz.

COMPREHENSIVE FUNCTIONALITY
The EXBOX.SG offers ultimate flexibility, as it provides three MADI ports of different interface types:

  • SC optical (single-mode or multimode)
  • coaxial (BNC)
  • SFP

The Small Form Factor Pluggable cage can be equipped with any SFP module suitable for a specific application.

EARS™
Enhanced Automatic Redundancy Switching™ is a system that prevents output signal interruption. It uses proven technology BLDS™ or triggering with a reference signal. The logic monitors the status of the trigger signal on the audio network or MADI inputs. In the event of a failure, it automatically switches to a defined backup input (audio network or MADI).

Built-in switch
Four network ports can be used for direct connection to redundant recording systems and plug-in servers without the need for an additional switch.

Remote control
EXBOX.SG is managed by the Soundgrid control panel and globcon.

Safe work
The device can be powered by up to two external power supplies with locking plugs, as well as PoE (Power over Ethernet).

Ready to install in the cabinet
Each EXBOX can be mounted in a standard 19'' rack using the optional BOXMOUNT.XL kit. Up to three units can fit side-by-side in 1 RU.
