DirectOut EXBOX.RAV

EXBOX.RAV is an Audio-over-IP to MADI converter running on RAVENNA's proven DirectOut implementation (AES67/ST 2110-30 / -31). It supports NMOS for stream and device discovery and connection management.

Four gigabit ports with internal switch and PoE, and three MADI ports in BNC, SC and SFP format offer bidirectional conversion and routing of 64 audio channels, with built-in SRC functions (FastSRC™) and automatic redundancy switching (EARS™).

The handy size of the popular EXBOX series (1/3 of 19''), combined with a rugged chassis and redundant power supplies, makes EXBOX.RAV a compact and affordable solution for baseband to IP audio migration.

As a participant in the program JT-NM Tested, EXBOX.RAV is listed in the directory JT-NM Tested Catalog As a device compliant with SMPTE 2110 standards.

Audio streaming
Up to 32 streams with a total of 64 audio channels are supported. The device is compliant with AES67, ST 2110-30 / -31 standards and supports all ST 2022-7 classes.

Versatile functionality
EXBOX.RAV offers the ultimate in flexibility as it provides three MADI ports of different interface types:

  • SC optical (single-mode or multimode)
  • coaxial (BNC)
  • SFP

The Small Form Factor Pluggable cage can be equipped with any SFP module suitable for a specific application.

FastSRC
FastSRC™ is a low-latency, switched sampling rate converter for audio network I/O and provides seamless exchange between MADI and IP when the two sources are out of sync.

EARS™
Enhanced Automatic Redundancy Switching™ is a system that prevents output signal interruption. It uses the proven BLDS™ technology or remote control signal triggering. The logic monitors the state of the trigger signal at the audio network input. In the event of a failure, it automatically switches to a defined backup input (audio network or MADI).

Built-in switch
Two independent network cards can be connected to the four network ports of the built-in switch, supporting redundant audio streaming in accordance with ST 2022-7.

Remote control
Features of the EXBOX.RAV device, such as a channel-based routing matrix, FastSRC™ or EARS™, are available via globcon and the browser user interface. NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 standards are supported for stream and device detection and connection management.

Safe operation
The device can be powered by up to two external power supplies, as well as PoE (Power over Ethernet).
