Solid State Logic, a manufacturer of top-of-the-line mixing consoles for studios, broadcast, and live events (SSL), has just announced the latest V3.1 update for the System T series. One of the main reasons for this update is compatibility with the new-generation TE1 and TE2 Tempest engines. The new compact engines offer exactly the same functionality as the T25 and T80 models. The main difference lies in their more compact dimensions and weight—specifically, the replacement of the previous 4 RU height with a 1 RU height in the TE1 model and a 2 RU height in the TE2 model. Additionally, the engines now offer the ability to permanently or temporarily increase DSP processing power, which is a true revolution.

Using the AoIP SSL System T, with automatic detection of Dante devices and AES67/ST 2110 streams, audio signal routing is presented via a simple and intuitive GUI, with full mono routing capabilities. The new software version 3.1 includes improvements for managing dynamic and frequently changing AoIP networks, as well as additional access control features to enhance the security of inputs and outputs and expand console options. SolidStateLogic With a focus on interoperability and integration with third-party devices, version 3.1 introduces the ability to control the Focusrite RedNet MP8R preamp directly from the System T console. This enables full compatibility with these high-end preamps, as well as saving and recalling parameters along with scenes and routing files.

Additional New Features for Studio and Broadcast Consoles S300 / S500 These include, among other things, the new „Send Stems” mode, which allows you to toggle the standard subgroup setting (on/off) to a bus with a send level—which is useful, for example, for effect return signals. The „Path Recall Safe” feature, which has been expanded to include individual path processing blocks, provides a quick and easy way to recall a specific function from the „Channel View” when triggering scenes.
The new Tempest SSL TE1 and TE2 engines and V3.1 software will be available to customers starting in August 2021.
