SOLID STATE LOGIC UMD 192 - HIGH-BANDWIDTH AUDIO INTERFACE

The most powerful MADI, Dante, USB interface available
Solid State Logic The UMD192 is a powerful and portable USB audio interface designed to meet the demands of professional concert, broadcast and recording studio environments. With seamless integration with MADI, Dante and USB, the UMD192 offers flexible routing, a large number of channels and uncompromising performance for recording, playback and format integration. It provides 192 channels at 96 and 48 kHz or 128 channels at 192 kHz in a compact and portable ½RU form factor.

Perfect connection between USB, MADI and Dante
Designed with versatility in mind, the UMD192 supports bidirectional audio transfer between any two formats - MADI, Dante or USB - with a third format capable of receiving a split signal. This makes it ideal for connecting multiple MADI-connected devices to a Dante network, or for recording and playback with a large number of channels via USB 3.0.

On the network side, the UMD192 provides fully interoperable Dante AoIP technology with support for AES67 and ST 2110 (with DDM) and ultra-low Dante latency of up to 0.25 ms. The UMD192 provides flexible clocking options with MADI or Dante, covering sample rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz. With six MADI BNC pairs, the UMD192 can also be configured in redundant mode, enabling three dual-redundant MADI connections for critical broadcast and live operation.

Comprehensive solution for live, broadcast and studio applications

The UMD192 is perfect for concert applications, but its versatility makes it equally valuable for a wide variety of professional audio applications. From recording and mixing music to broadcasting - especially when combined with the SSL System T - to studio sessions with a large number of channels, the UMD192 provides seamless integration and high performance.

It is an ideal computer interface for Harrison 32Classic systems with Dante and is a perfect fit for SSL Oracle or ORIGIN installations with Dante or MADI conversion. The UMD192 is a powerful solution for non-SSL console users in live sound, broadcast, studio and post-production environments. It offers exceptional connectivity, format bridging and operational flexibility in a compact, portable form factor.

With unmatched flexibility and robust connectivity, the UMD192 is the ideal companion for engineers working in live sound, broadcast, post-production and studio environments. Whether used as a high-capacity interface or as a format bridge, the UMD192 ensures that your workflow is streamlined and ready for the future.

Intuitive control from the front panel
The UMD192's front panel features clear, high-visibility indicators that provide real-time information on signal flow, sample rate synchronization, power and network connectivity status, ensuring control even in stressful situations. The UMD192's front panel controls are locked by default to protect your predefined configuration and prevent accidental changes to settings. Press and hold the padlock button to temporarily unlock the remaining controls and change modes.

Lock - Press and hold to unlock the remaining controls on the front panel. Press and hold until the red padlock symbol in the center of the circle on the instrument panel goes out.
Mode - press to switch between signal flow modes - available when the front panel is unlocked.
Clock source - press to switch between Dante and MADI as the clock source - available when the front panel is unlocked.
MADI Redundancy - press to toggle between enabling and disabling MADI redundancy. Redundant mode applies to all MADI ports. - Available when the front panel is unlocked.

Flexible power supply and redundancy
The UMD192 supports multiple power sources - mains, Power over Ethernet (PoE) and USB - offering flexible deployment options and allowing engineers and operators to build power redundancy into their configuration. Each of these power sources can be used individually, and PoE can be combined with an external power supply to provide redundant power.

Compatible with Mac and Windows
UMD192 is a class-compatible audio interface that works natively with macOS Core Audio and requires no additional drivers. Simply connect the device, select SSL as an audio device in the system settings and you're ready to go. This allows audio engineers to connect a Mac and start working immediately - no additional software installation is required.

On Windows systems, the UMD192 requires the SSL ASIO driver, available from the Solid State Logic support portal. ASIO drivers are multi-client, allowing multiple ASIO applications to access the interface simultaneously.
