W Terrace Restaurant located in the Wrocław Congress Center, which is part of the Centennial Hall complex listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Bose Professional installation was realized.
The scope of our order included the preparation of the concept, design, development of cost estimates, technical specifications and delivery of the equipment, i.e. the entire investment process except for the execution. The delivery included ceiling speakers from the Bose Professional family DesignMax, models DM5C and subwoofers DM8C SUB. We entrusted the management of the system to the processor Bose CSP428, and power is provided by an amplifier Bose PowerSpace 4300+. Communication between the amplifier and the processor is carried out via AmpLik link, which is Bose's digital transmission standard. In addition, we have supplied two wall controllers from the CC family and remote management of the system is carried out via the ControlSpace remote application.

The premise of the project was that the sound system could be used in a versatile way. Thus, the installation is used for background music, conference sound reinforcement, readings, press conferences, live performances by small bands or DJ sound reinforcement. Such versatile use is facilitated by the CC3D wall controller, which allows the selection of one of 4 external sound sources.

The use of ceiling speakers was due to the fact that the building is under the strict control of the conservation officer, which prevented the installation of any kind of „protruding structures” such as in-wall speakers. Among the key features of Bose Professional DesignMax speakers is their design, as they have enclosures, which means that their sound qualities are not dependent on how the ceiling is built. What's more, Bose speakers come in two basic colors, black and white, but they can also be painted in any color, which is not insignificant for installation equipment. This made choosing Bose Professional speakers the best possible choice.

For the initial simulation, we used two DesignMax DM3C and DM5C models, which performed well. In the end, we opted for the DM5C model, which, due to its acoustic specifications, we were able to install a smaller number while maintaining accurate coverage of the entire space and superior sound quality. This choice also resulted in less interference with the ceiling, so it was also faster and cheaper to install. In addition, we installed one DM8C subwoofer each in the restaurant space and the vip area. Due to the sonic qualities of the DM5C speakers, the use of subwoofers was not necessary for background music, but keeping in mind events with a DJ or live performances, i.e. situations requiring more of the lowest frequencies, we decided to include them in the design.

Functionally, the entire sound system is divided into 3 zones, restaurant space, bar space and vip space. The CSP428 processor supports up to 5 zones so we have the ability to manage two more areas that are likely to appear in the future. The whole project was considered not only in terms of the restaurant but the entire building, which has various functions. The project prepared by us was comprehensive, while for the moment the restaurant part has been realized.
The Bose Professional installation at the Terrace Restaurant is a perfect example of how we approach the subject of sound system installation design. We listen carefully to the client's needs, analyze all possibilities and propose the most optimal solutions. The use of Bose Professional equipment guarantees the best sound quality, state-of-the-art unique technologies and continuous support from the manufacturer. Terrace Restaurant is a perfect example of the importance of forward-thinking design, i.e. selecting such solutions that allow expansion of the existing installation if necessary, without having to replace the entire sound system, or mixing incompatible technologies, through which the functionality of the system can significantly suffer.
